Ferreira aims to break hoodoo

The two teams meet in the UEFA Champions League at Stamford Bridge with the Portuguese side yet to taste victory in England.

Porto failed to win at Arsenal and Manchester United last season, while more often than not they have also been slow out of the blocks.

Ferreira knows his side have struggled to perform against Premier League opposition and hopes things will be different on Tuesday.

"In the last two seasons we have started badly against English teams but still finished top of our group," said Ferreira.

"I don't know why we have not won against English teams in England but I hope it will be different this season."

Ferreira has acknowledged Carlo Ancelotti's side are their main group rivals, although he insists his team will stick to their style of play.

"Chelsea are one of the best teams in England," he continued. "They are very difficult to start with in the group.

"They have ve! ry good players who are mature and very experienced. They have been playing together for a very long time.

"They are the strongest team in this phase. But we also have a very strong team. We want to keep our own identity and will play the way we always do."
