Carlo wants duo to stay

Chelsea have agreed new long-term deals with the likes of Didier Drogba, Ashley Cole, Florent Malouda and John Terry in recent months.

Now with the Blues facing an 18-month transfer ban, they are keen to tie down all their stars to long-term contracts.

And Cole and Anelka appear next in line to put-pen-to-paper.

Ancelotti admits he does not get involved in discussions with players about their contracts - but he admits he wants the pair to remain at Stamford Bridge.

"I don't speak with the players about the contract," said Ancelotti.

"But for me Joe Cole is a very good player and he has to stay in the club and so does Nicolas Anelka."

Cole, who has been linked with London rivals Tottenham, has less than 12 months left on his current deal, whilst Anelka's contract runs until 2011.
